Notes on my Vocal Range
I am a Tenor-Based Sopranist with a non-falsetto head voice extension. What does that mean? It means I can sing roles like 'Tony' in WEST SIDE STORY, 'Judas' in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, 'The Phantom' in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, 'Galileo' in WE WILL ROCK YOU, 'Homer' in FLOYD COLLINS, 'Eva' in EVITA (yes, a female role, but I can SING it, so it's just an example), and 'Julie Jordan' in CAROUSEL (another female role, but a different style, another example). Basically, I am an anomaly, but people seem to enjoy that fact!

I have listed below a simplified explanation of my vocal range, as well as the various tonalities,
so that people might better understand my resume & performance history.
As I typically work in the world of American Musical Theater and American pop-rock,
I must use various tonalities (voice qualities/style) as this explanation describes:
*
-Legit Tenor Tonality ~ Low G (2 below Middle C) to High D (2 above Middle C)
-Pop/Rock Belt Tenor Tonality ~ Low G (2 below Middle C) to High G (2 above Middle C)
-Sopranist (male soprano**) Tonality ~ A (1 below Middle C) to High E (2 above Middle C)
*
** EXTREMELY rare voice type - there are only a handful known to be performing in the world. A Sopranist is a singer who can sing within the range of and with the tonality of a soprano, or, approximately, with those that the castrati most likely possessed (tonal quality Mr. Rooney used to sing the role of "Lucy Brown" in the Roundabout Theatre Co.'s 2006 Broadway Revival of "The Threepenny Opera"). A Sopranist may also sing with the tonality of a tenor or a baritone. Such is dependent on his particular laryngeal development.
